How Can We Help?

Find answers to common questions about VoipTrades, our services, and how to get started.

General Questions

VoipTrades is a voice-based service that allows incarcerated persons to manage their brokerage accounts and execute stock trades using an approved correctional phone line. By calling our secure trading line, users can obtain market information, review account positions, and place trades through a guided voice system.

VoipTrades is designed for incarcerated persons who already have, or wish to open, a brokerage account with one of our supported brokerage partners. The service can also involve family members or trusted individuals who assist with account setup and paperwork.

Most incarcerated people do not have direct internet access. VoipTrades bridges that gap by allowing them to interact with financial markets through a secure phone-based system, helping them build financial knowledge and maintain long-term investment strategies.

Getting Started

To get started, the following steps are required: • Brokerage Account Setup – A brokerage account must be opened or linked with a supported brokerage provider. • Power of Attorney Authorization – The incarcerated person must sign a limited Power of Attorney allowing VoipTrades to connect to the brokerage account. • Account Verification – We confirm the account details and activate the phone access system. • Phone Access – The incarcerated person calls the VoipTrades trading line from their approved phone line to begin using the service.

A limited Power of Attorney (POA) allows VoipTrades to: • Connect securely to the brokerage account • Execute trades only under the direction of the incarcerated person • Collect applicable service fees directly from the brokerage account This authorization ensures that the service can function securely without requiring outside payments.

No. All investment decisions remain the responsibility of the incarcerated person. VoipTrades only executes trades based on the instructions provided during the phone call.

Fees and Payments

All fees are collected directly from the brokerage account associated with the service. This includes: • Trading execution fees • Monthly service fees • Document mailing fees VoipTrades does not accept checks, money orders, or other forms of payment.

Traditional payment methods are often restricted in correctional settings. Collecting fees directly from the brokerage account simplifies the process and ensures uninterrupted access to the service.
